The Indiscreet and Indiscriminate Use of the Penis

I usually finding something to rant about as previously mentioned in my last post. Today, it is the indiscreet and indiscriminate use of the penis.

Last week I was walking down my block when I noticed a woman exiting her building with two small children, a boy and a girl.  She had just locked the door when the boy tugged at her sleeve and said something to her.

I am assuming he needed to use the bathroom, because she instructed the boy to relieve himself in front of the building under her neighbor’s window. Would she have instructed the little girl to do the same? 

Later that day, I was at my window happily preparing to work on my window boxes when I noticed a man relieving himself behind the tree in front of my house. In the middle of the day. I had planted flowers in that tree pit. I weed and tend to it. After he left, I was compelled to run outside and hose down the tree.

A few weeks ago after a long day, I was feeling tired and decided to take the elevator in the subway rather that walk to the end of the platform to the escalator.  Upon entering I was assaulted by the smell of urine. My nose started burning and my eyes began to water.  I jumped off before the door closed and took the escalator instead.  Luckily, unlike the woman in the wheel chair, I had an option.

I have a friend I have known for more than 30 years. Over those years, I have visited her home countless times, and I cannot recall a visit during which the elevator did not smell of urine; smell of  a combination urine and disinfectant; or have a pool of urine on the floor.

We have all seen acts of public urination. If I had a dollar for every incident I witnessed, I would be a rich woman. Okay, ten dollars. 

Mothers, please demand of your sons the same standards you demand of your daughters. Gentlemen, you are grownups, you should know better. Please show some respect for yourselves and others.

Gentlemen, why do countless others have to smell or step in your bodily waste?  Why can’t you wait?  Just because you can, does not mean you should.
