Restoration Applebees gets a face lift too

The Applebees located within Restoration Plaza has recently undergone some renovation, much like the rest of Restoration Plaza.

The Restoration Plaza Applebees at Restoration Plaza has recently undergone a major facelift.

“Although all of our restaurants are on a regular renovation schedule, the Restoration Plaza [Applebees] was revisited to coincide with the renovation of the plaza” said Zane Tankel, CEO of Apple-Metro Inc., the company that owns and operates the Applebees franchises in the New York area.

According to Apple-Metro’s Vice President of Marketing, Ken Feldman, the Restoration Plaza Applebees underwent renovations by an interior designer for basic things like new carpet, updated furniture, a larger, spacious layout, an entertainment system upgrade that included eight additional flat screen TV’s, a new awning and sign, a new ramp and an automated lift for disabled customers, and new patio furniture for outdoor seating.

Items on the menu will remain the same, as this is only a redesign of the physical appearance of the store itself.

“The cornerstone of our neighborhood engagement program – our artifacts package -- was also enhanced to be more reflective of the community including front and center placement of photographs of Restoration Corporation board members in new wall murals,” said Feldman.

“It is also important to note that this renovation also supports our ongoing ‘Green Initiatives Program’ with the installation of more efficient LED lighting throughout the restaurant.”

The renovation process took around three weeks to complete and was done off-hours as to not disturb customers.

Tankel is also confident that the updated look will receive a warm welcome by customers and the BSRC, saying that he has already received some positive responses from some guests.

“The extensive remodeling of Applebee’s has provided an amazing facelift to one of Restoration Plaza’s flagship businesses while at the same time serving as a tremendous tribute to the dynamic community of Bedford Stuyvesant with photos of its institutions, cultural icons and key history makers,” said Dyrnest Sinckler, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the BSRC.

“Coupled with the broader remodeling of Restoration’s West Plaza, renovations are quickly transforming this historic plaza into a first rate destination for entertainment, leisure and commerce.”

“Restoration Plaza is truly a world-class hub of community activity and we are proud to be a part of that,” said Tankel
