Readers' Choice: Best Spots to Grab Breakfast

Tell us the best spot to grab the most important meal of the day: breakfast!

What’s the most important meal of the day? Everybody, say it together: breakfast!

Whether you’re looking to grab a fast bite on your way to work, or electing to relax and enjoy a hot meal, where you choose to eat breakfast can determine your outlook on the rest of the day.

Also, what you eat at breakfast time can mean a lot: Yogurt, fruit and granola? An egg and cheese biscuit? A bagel and cream cheese with a cup of hot coffee? Or pancakes with eggs and a side of home fries?

Wherever you choose, you want a breakfast that’s fast, hot, consistent in taste and satisfying. Is it Peaches for breakfast? Or perhaps the Spanish deli Punta Cana, where it’s no frills and fast. Or perhaps you think McDonald’s is the fastest, tastiest and most consistent option.

My personal favorite?  Mike’s Coffee Shop on Dekalb Avenue and Hall Street. It’s a family run operation that is very friendly, a staple in the neighborhood and the food is fast and de-li-cious! But unfortunately, Mike’s is in Clinton Hill, and we’re talking Bed-Stuy.

The truth is, I haven’t found one in Bed-Stuy that satisfies me quite the way Mike’s does. So neighbors, help me out. Where do you like to go to grab a breakfast that is consistently tasty, has great service and a great menu?

Tell us which one is your favorite in the poll below. However, if there are other spots you believe belong on the list, let us know in the comments section below and we’ll add them right away.

Voting in the poll is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.
