Bed-Vyne To Celebrate Two Years With Mandelas, Oktoberfest

It's a good time to be a beer and wine lover in Bed-Stuy.

Bed-Vyne Wines in Bed-Stuy is celebrating two years in the neighborhood this month, and they've got a couple of big parties to help

The first event on Friday, Oct. 18, is a wine tasting with the family of Nelson Mandela with their "House of Mandela" vineyard. Makaziwe Mandela, daughter of Nelson, and Tukwini Mandela, his granddaughter, are making one of their first U.S. stops in Bed-Stuy and helping kick off the Bed-Vyne celebration. The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Oct. 19, Bed-Vyne Wines will host a block party/Oktoberfest that, according to owner Ayo Akinnuoye, will feature " German beers, German Style Craft Beers from the US and Domestic Ciders."

Akinnuoye also promised "smoked sausages, pretzels and German Folk Music. Food trucks and food purveyors include Delaney BBQ, Crif Dogs, La Bella Torte, Cuzin's Duzin Donuts, Bush Doctor and Common Grounds."

Sounds like a delicious shindig. It runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

Don't miss it!
