New Brooklyn Theater Joins Bed Stuy Alive! 2013

Bed-Stuy Alive will not be short on theater.

Restoration Rocks! on Saturday isn't the only game in town for Bed-Stuy Alive! 2013, not by a long shot.

There are plenty of other events going down this weekend, all outstanding ways of enjoying yourself and supporting the arts in your community. 

The New Brooklyn Theater will be adding a plethora of colorful voices to the neighborhood, starting on Oct. 12, and continuing through Oct. 17. 

Among productions at The New Brooklyn Theater will be: 

  • The Gift, written and performed by Cherrye Davis, a celebration of the streets and rhythms of Bed-Stuy.
  • Barcode, written and produced by students from a troupe of high-school- and college-aged Brooklyn students. at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.
  • Homegrown, a series of screenings by Brooklyn filmmakers, on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
