'King Kong' Set to Hit Bed-Stuy

Hip-hop production plays at Von King Park July 30 through Aug. 1.

'King Kong' his headed to Bed-Stuy, but don't be scared.

A new musical theater production for SummerStage, NYC's largest free performing arts festival kicking off in Brooklyn on July 30th, debuts at Von King Park in Bed-Stuy.

Randy Weiner, producer of the hit production Sleep No More, has teamed up with director Alfred Preisser (Founding Director of the Classical Theater of Harlem) for the third time to co-write the new musical theater production for SummerStage based on King Kong.

'King Kong' is part of the 'This Is __ Hip-Hop' series, an overarching theme of the 2013 SummerStage festival that celebrates 40 years since the legendary Hip-Hop DJ Kool Herc first began.

The entire festival takes place in 17 parks throughout all five boroughs.
