Jose James at Weeksville

Rain was forecasted Sunday but stayed at bay, as jazz singer captivated his audience at 12th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival at Weeksville Heritage Center.

Since his explosive arrival on the international scene, vocalist Jose James has consistently dazzled critics and audiences alike with his smooth combination of soul, hip-hop and jazz.

Blessed with a warm, rich baritone reminiscent of Terry Callier, Jon Lucien and Gil-Scott Heron, Jose has toured internationally at venues such as Umbria, Nice, and North Sea Jazz Festivals, Billboard Live In Tokyo, Ancienne Belgique, Centro Cultural Sao Paolo, the Hermitage St. Petersburg, Central Park Summerstage and London's Royal Festival Hall.
