Her Word As Witness Public Programming: Sonia Sanchez

"Her Word as Witness", riveting, intimate portraits of 35 women of some of our country's and the Black diaspora's most talented and prolific writers. The exhibit opened on December 1st to rave reviews in print and electronic media and will close March 31, 2012. Curated by photographer Laylah Amatullah Barrayn, the following accompanying public program promises to further enrich the exhibition:

Join us for a conversation with longtime poet, activist and professorSonia Sanchez and celebrated contemporary poet, publisher and renaissance woman Jessica Care Moore. The poets will offer their perspectives on ‘witnessing’ along with a performance of their works with special guests. Moderated by Malaika Adero. Malaika Adero, Vice President and Senior Editor Atria Books, Simon & Schuster, viewsas her most important book, “Up South: Stories, Studies and Letters of This Century’s African American Migrations,” The New Press 1992/1993.
