Film screening of "Fashioning Peace in Kenya"

The 2007 elections in President Obama's fatherland, Kenya, sparked a wave of violence that drove over 500,000 out of their homes to tent cities in Kenya and beyond. Watch Kenyan fashion designers and artists band together in this documentary as they raise money to help heal their country's wounds and bring their countrymen home (28 minutes). Followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Joshua Bee Alafia. Free.

This screening is part of a film series organized in conjunction with the 2012 Black President's Day Exhibition. Visit www.BlackPresidentsDay.Blogspot.com details on this free public exhibit of African political fabrics, a complete film schedule, and info on how you can get involved today!
