KIANE ZAWALDI
Born Bernard Atwell McKinney, November 26, 1932. In the 1960's his name changed to Kiane Zawadi. Uncle to R&B producer and jazz Pianist Carlos"Los Da Mystro"McKinney. Kiane has played or recorded with numerous artists, including Sonny Stitt 1951, Detroit. Slide Hampton, James Moody, Mongo Santomaria, Lionel Hampton, Dizzy Gillespie, and Aretha Franklin. Frank Foster. Also worked with Art Brakely, Joe Henderson, Lionel Hampton and Freddie Hubert.
This Euphonium musician, first introduced the very unique instrument to thejazz scene in 1957. Kiane moved into NYC 1959.Just returning from Paris, France from working this week, Mr. Kiane Zawaldi will be sharing his memory of Jazz in History while playing along with, ERIC LEMON -BASSIST AND MUSIC DIRECTOR.
