BLACK HISTORY,

LADY OF THE MONTH

LEGEND

KEISHA ST. JOAN

and

Steve Elmer, on Piano

Many of you have seen Keisha St. Joan perform at her best. You know her for sharing her wonderful voice, and her talented way of presenting a evening of amazing music. What you may not be aware of is her political fight, and dedicated work in helping jazz performers obtain benifits, of retirement. Keisha believes that all the years that is spend in giving time to the arts, that there should be payment due for survival of the artist last days. This remarkable, over 30 years Cancer survivor spends her time helping others. At BrownstoneJAZZ we support her campaign .

Keisha "likes to consider herself an Ambassador of Jazz. Miles Davis, through marriage to her cousin, Cicely Tyson, has been a great influence throughout her career. Because of jazz, she has seen countless countries. Like spreading the gospel, she says: "There are people all over the world connected by jazz. In any country and time there is jazz. There is no separation between people. We may not all speak the same language, but we understand the music. It's all intertwined. We all play the tune together". BrownstoneJAZZ, supports that belief.

Be there to applaud Keisha for her works. Come out and support Keisha in the ROOM, at BrownstoneJAZZ. She has definitely gone the distance and continue the journey in fighting for Musicians Retirement funds. Join her and see if you can do something to help this Madame Legend win the fight, while being Royally entertained also by our,
