2012 Battle of the Drumlines presented by The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band

The Battle of the Drumlines event was created by The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band in 2011 as an extension of its mission to enhance the physical and social development of youth through the performing arts.  This year's Battle of the Drumlines will feature local high school and community drumlines battling it out for top honors.  The event will also include a special performance by North Carolina A&T State University Cold Steel.   All proceeds from the event will benefit The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band.

ABOUT THE BROOKLYN STEPPERS

Since 1989, The Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band (formerly the Jackie Robinson Steppers Marching Band) have welcomed young people of Brooklyn from ages 8 - 18 and instilled in them the discipline, teamwork, and precision that can only be gained from being part of a large group united in a singular cause.  Today, not only does the Brooklyn Steppers stimulate the cultural palette of its participants, we engage them in extraordinary opportunities that will lead them along the road to maturity and academic success.  The mission of the Brooklyn Steppers is to provide once-in-a-lifetime performing opportunities to youth in Brooklyn, while simultaneously supporting their intellectual, civic, social and cultural growth.
