1. Enjoy a first. This Saturday is Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturday with the theme of "Remixing the American Story. This month's events include a "street brass band," American music from blues to hip-hop an artist talk on the installation Alternative Histories, encouraging visitors to rethink American history, an interactive Native American-inspired dance performance and more.

2. Celebrate Theophilus London. The hip-hop/indie performer headlines Saturday night' Celebrate Brooklyn! Les Nubians' "unique Afropean soul" is also on the agenda.

3. Eat and watch.
At LaunchPad tonight (Friday) they're holding a night of Banquet Cinema "an interactive and performative feast taking place in an immersive installation that mirrors the revelry presented onscreen," they say. Food and drink provided.

4. Welcome the newcomer. Minor Arcana is no more. In its place is 706 Bar, a homey spot complete with pinball machine that offers a $2 draft daily as well as homemade infused bourbon. They've been open since early June, but on Saturday night they're holding their official Grand Opening. Stop by.

5. Fire up your engine. You may be off today but the Department of Sanitation is back at work. So yes, you have to move the car.
