5 Things: Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Cherry Blossom Festival

Plus Julius Ceasar, book buying for P.S. 9, a classical concert and Fiddlefest!

1. Turn Japanese. This weekend is the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Cherry Blossom Festival 2013 with not only perfect blossoms but also more than 60 events celebrating Japanese traditional and contemporary culture. Lines are long, but if you get your tickets online or are a member, you can skip them.Schedule and ticket info here. 2. Tune into classical music.
 If you're in the mood for a concert, The Old Stone House presents a celebration of Classical Music with the Janus Trio, which uses "traditional instrumentation while breaking new ground into unexplored sonic frontiers." Old Stone House in JJ Byrne Park, 5th Avenue and 4th St. in Park Slope. 8 p.m. $20.

3. See a classic. This weekend the Royal Shakespeare Company performs Julius Ceasar at BAM, offering with a new twist on Shakespeare’s classic political thriller, directed by Gregory Doran and featuring an all-black cast. Saturday at 2 and 7:30, Sunday at 3 p.m. $25-$125.

4. Buy a book. Kick-off screen-free week at the Barnes & Noble Book Fair to Benefit PS 9. Activities include student violin performances at 11AM, Make a Bookmark at 12PM,  Storytime with Principal D'Avilar at 12:30PM and much more. 5. Find your inner fiddle. This year Fiddlefest! takes place in Crown Heights.  Over 200 musicians from 26 New York public schools will converge for a day of workshops culminating in a public performance. 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Brooklyn School of Music and Theatre, 883 Classon Ave. at Eastern Parkway. $7; children, $3.
