True South Bookstore to Screen 'Central Park 5' Documentary

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A by Yusef Salaam, one of the original Central Park 5.

On Sunday, August 18th, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., True South Bookstore will present a screening of the documentary film "Central Park 5."

In the movie, "Central Park 5," award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns captures the story of five black and Latino teenagers from Harlem who were wrongly convicted of raping a white woman in New York City’s Central Park in 1989. The film chronicles The Central Park Jogger case through the lens of these five young men whose lives were forever changes as a result of judicial injustice and flawed methods of interrogation.
