VIDEO: Through Blood, Sweat and Cheers: The Bed-Stuy 10K Community Run

More than 500 participants of all ages laced up for the 10K Community Run/Walk on Sunday in Bed-Stuy

Trophies and cash were awarded to the top three male and female finishers in 12 age categories on Saturday for the Bedford-Stuyvesant Annual 10K Community Run/Walk. 

More than 125 volunteers representing the Bed-Stuy Alive! community circuit, a motorcycle club, Foodtown Groceries, the YMCA Piranhas swim team and throngs of spectators came out in a show of support.

A free kiddy run gave children ages 3 to 10 a chance to compete while also reinforce the importance of exercise and health. Every child was a winner and received a medallion, along with a commemorative t-shirt.
