The Good Food Revolution with Will Allen
Will Allen's Grow Power: creating sustainable, environmentally conscious and economical local food supply system
The Brooklyn Rescue Mission, a community-based food justice organization feeding over 4000 needy people every month, brings the Good Food Revolution to Bedford-Stuyvesant.
The Good Food Revolution is a three day event, beginning July 21 through July 23, and featuring Will Allen the founder and CEO of Growing Power, Inc., a national non-profit organization with a mission to provide healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food to people in all communities.
Mr. Allen also is a 2008 John D. and Katherine T. McArthur Foundation Fellow; a member of the Clinton Global Initiative; and was a 2010 “Time Magazine’s 100 World’s Most Influential People” nominee. Over the three days, Mr. Allen will lead training sessions on sustainable agriculture; creating equitable and just local food systems and providing a year-round food supply using limited urban spaces.

Friday and Saturday, July 22 & 23, 8:00AM – 5:00PM – Will Allen’s Sustainable Agriculture Training “From the Ground Up Workshop”. The hands-on workshop will cover composting, aquaponic food production and hoop house building.
