Bed-Stuy has long held the reputation as "the neighborhood of churches."
On every other block, you may find either a church, storefront mosque or synagogue, preaching the Gospel in English, Spanish, Creole, Arabic, Hebrew or French, you name it!
Tuesday night at around 8:00 p.m., La Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal Renacimiento Cristiano Concilio LatinoAmericano (The United Latin-American Pentecostal Church of Born Again Christians) held an outdoor revival on the corner of Bedford and Dekalb avenues.
On this balmy summer evening, the church's small membership pulled folding chairs out onto the sidewalk, along with a loudspeaker, a preacher and a translator, to sing and share their message of God's plea for the re-birth of humanity.
And I doubt there was a single resident within a ten-block radius that did not hear their message!
