New Year's Eve Parties in Bed-Stuy

Where to end the year in the neighborhood

Looking to avoid another quiet New Years at home? There are plenty of great parties happening in and around Bed-Stuy tonight, from swanky dinners to after-hours clubbing. We've listed five of the best ones, but let us know about any others in the area by sending a comment.

Sweet Revenge (348 Franklin Avenue, between Greene Ave. and Lexington Ave.; (718) 398-2472; www.myspace.com/sweetrevengebar

Bed-Stuy may not be known for its gay scene, but Sweet Revenge might be looking to change that with their after-hours queer party from 2:00-8:00 a.m. DJ Tikka will be spinning 90s hip-hop and R&B, and a Bollywood theme in the final hour ends the party on a high note. Subscribe to DJ Tikka's SMS list on his website (djtikka.com) for a $5 cover, or pay $10 at the door.

Franklin Park (618 St. John's Pl., between Classon Ave. and Franklin Ave.; (718) 975-0196; franklinparkbrooklyn.com)

With three DJ's on hand for this New Year's Bash, Franklin Park is intent on making sure their party-goers get up and dance. DJ's Nickodemus, DRM and Jai-Ho bring in the New Year with music ranging from current hits to old school hip-hop, with special guest CongaFist on percussion. If that's not enough, the free cover means your wallet will thank you the morning after, even if your head doesn't.
