Honor Shirley Chisholm at Macon Library

Event will celebrate the life of former Brooklyn Congresswoman.

Macon Library in Bed-Stuy will spend one day next week honoring civil rights hero and former Brooklyn congresswoman Shirley Chisholm.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m., the Macon Library will celebrate Shirley Chisholm Day, with a film screening, trivia event and get-together.

After a screening of  "Chisholm '72", directed by Shola Lynch, attendees will also have a chance to talk to the Bill de Blasio transition team about the direction of governance in New York City, a topic Chisholm herself surely would have been keen to discuss.
