From Curry to Cornbread, Savor Bed-Stuy!

Known worldwide for its delicious food and fine dining, Chicago, in 1980, began featuring its many great restaurants – big and small – all in one place, as a part of a summer street fair celebration called “Taste of Chicago.”

After the success of Taste of Chicago, every major city, county, township, neighborhood began featuring its own “Taste of” this and “Taste of” that.

Well, Bedford-Stuyvesant has finally jumped on the bandwagon. Considering the neighborhood’s population of 180,000 (as large as a mini-city) and the growing concentration of restaurants, a “Savor Bed-Stuy” is, without a doubt, long overdue.

As a part of the 8th Annual Bed-Stuy Alive! week of events, and in conjunction with the Bed-Stuy Gateway and the , Savor Bed-Stuy will feature some of Bed-Stuy’s most popular, well-known mainstay food spots, along with some of its newer, lesser known yet up-and-coming cafes, restaurants, bars and watering holes.

Savor Bed-Stuy will not be a restaurant street fair, per se, but more like “Restaurant Week,” where, between October 8 and October 13, from 11:00am to 11:00pm, residents can choose from a list of dining options around the neighborhood offering discounts and specials.
