Five Things: All-Star Week in NYC

Baseball is what's on order for the week ahead.

It's time to look at the week ahead in Brooklyn and Queens.

There is a lot going on in the city this week, here are a few suggestions for your next five days:

  1. It's All-Star Week in New York City. Baseball's most superfluous show of star power will be taking over the city, but Monday is the Home Run Derby, a spectacle that is almost certainly more entertaining than any other because DINGERS!
  2. Tuesday night, Citi Field will host the All-Star Game, National League Against the American League, and the city is preparing for that with extra train service on the 7 and LIRR lines.
  3. Once the All-Star Game is over, the National Weather Service is calling for some serious heat during the second half of the week. Be prepared and know where to go if you overheat!
  4. If you're looking to dance up a storm this week to fight that heat, head over to the Salsa Party at the Brooklyn Museum.
  5. Alternate Side Parking is IN EFFECT. Move your cars.
