What happened this week in local politics.

We had some important things happen this week in New York City politics. Here's a round-up of what's important for Brooklyn:

The Board of Elections certified the race for Bed-Stuy's City Council Democratic Primary, locking in Robert Cornegy Jr. as the winner. 

Letitia James is likely heading to the Public Advocate's office, after taking home a victory in the runoff election on Oct. 1.

Current Public Advocate Bill de Blasio has a massive lead over opponent Joe Lhota in the race for New York City mayor.

Brooklyn D.A. Charles Hynes is reportedly planning to run as a Republican after losing the primary to Ken Thompson last month.
