Bushbaby is Reborn!

The Fulton Street coffee bar and lounge re-opens this Thursday with a new look and new attitude

Bushbaby is back!

The comfy little coffee bar and lounge, located at 1197 Fulton St., will celebrate its grand re-opening this Thursday, October 18, at 5:00 p.m. with a full service bar and grill.

Bushbaby's owners have spent the past year redesigning the layout. The new space will feature a newly painted lounge with new lighting, new decor, a full bar, more seating options and an updated menu.

"Bed-Stuy is a great community to live and play in, and Bushbaby has always believed in this," said Milton Jemmott, Bushbaby's owner. "The people in the community demanded options to socialize and bushbaby wanted to offer that."

The weekend brunch at bushbaby was always a popular destination, which will continue. But the coffee bar also has taken on a new attitude-- one that will come alive more in the evening hours.

The redesign will accommodate a space where people can go to gather for brunch and on the weekends, as well as unwind after work and socializing in the evenings.

"With the new design for bushbaby bar and grill, we wanted to offer another option for folks to stay in the neighborhood on the weekends and drive traffic into bed-stuy, when it comes to night life options," said Jemmott.

Bushbaby is now open Wednesday through Sunday. The store's new hours are Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.; Thursdays, 5:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.; Fridays, 5:00 p.m. - 4:00 a.m.; Saturdays, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 a.m.; and Sundays, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.

"We are excited to be open again and look forward to serving our old and new friends," said Jemmott.

Chris Rock said it best, African Americans are shown more 'love' for doing a 'bid' and getting outRead More of prison than to graduate school with a degree. When this 'hood mentality' starts to change, then you will see more than a trickle of AA passing advanced math courses.
