The euphoric high, mental clarity, and physical benefits I feel from running are inspirational. For me, distance running is about tangible goal setting, so it's extremely satisfying to finish long runs.
Training Routine:
I train weekday evenings after work and on weekends in Central Park with my team. Sometimes I do speed runs with my dog Roda- she's a fast little Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix.
Other Tidbit:
I studied acrobatics in college, and ended up with two serious disk injuries in my back. After discectomy surgery, my doctor said I'd never run again. A few years later I ran my first marathon in San Francisco. When I turned 40 this year, I decided to set the goal to beat my last marathon time (3:55).
