79th Precinct Police Blotter: A School Burglary, Robbery and Assault

A run-down of crime this past week from the 79th Precinct

The 79th Precinct experienced an impressive 29 percent decrease in crime-related incidents last week (37 vs. 52). For the month, there is a 4 percent decrease overall in crime compared to this time last year (159 vs. 165)

 

School Burglary

On the evening of June 9, unknown persons entered a security protected gate at the Ethical Community Charter School on 700 Park Ave. They removed several laptop computers and musical instruments. No leads to the perps have been found as of press time.

Larceny of Tools

While construction workers were working inside of a home on 193 Quincy St., an unknown person entered and removed approximately $1,300 of assorted tools from the front of the house.

 

Robbery

On June 7 at 11:50pm, a 40-year-old male was robbed by two unidentified black males at the corner of Myrtle Ave. and Marcus Garvey Blvd. The perps punched the victim and forcibly removed his cell phone. Police are still on the lookout for the two attackers.

 

Assault

On June 7 at 3:10am, a 24-year-old female was physically assaulted and robbed of her cell phone as she walked by 544 Marcy Ave. The perps, described as two black males in their late teens, fled into the Marcy Housing Development. Police are still looking for the attackers
