Crime activity is down a whopping 29 percent in the 79th Precinct (30 incident vs. 42) for the week of May 30-June 5, compared to the same time last year. However, there is a five percent increase in crime for the month, compared to the same 28-day period last year.

On Wednesday, June 1, at approximately 4:30 pm, a female victim was walking along Marcus Garvey Blvd. near Madison St. when two perps assaulted her and took her cell phone. No major injuries were reported, but the phone has yet to turn up.
On Friday, June 3, at approximately 11:00 pm, a 47-year-old male was attacked while walking by three Black males at 868 Park Ave. The men, whose ages ranged from late teens to mid-20s, punched the victim and stole his cell phone.

A Burglary
On Wednesday, June 1, a male victim reported a burglary at his residence at 466 Madison St. An unknown perp entered through a rear window and took numerous personal items before fleeing.
A Phone Snatch
On Tuesday, May 31, at approximately 4:40 pm, a 26-year-old female had her phone stolen at the corner of Herkimer St. and Albany Ave. She was talking on the phone when an unknown Black male grabbed the phone out of her hand and fled.
