Occupy Wall Street Movement on its Way to Brooklyn

Is Bed-Stuy ready to jump on the Wall Street bandwagon?

On Saturday, October 15, at Grand Army Plaza, the Occupy Wall Street anti-greed movement that has spread to 25 cities across the country plans to borough hop over the East River right into Brooklyn to demonstrate the group's growing support in New York City, reports The Brooklyn Paper.

Only time will tell whether the borough's local elected officials will get behind the moevement, but already, BEEP Marty Markowitz is offering words of support:

“It was only a matter of time before the … rallies made their way to Brooklyn,” Markowitz told us. “There is no doubt that Americans — those in the ‘99 percent’ — are hurting, and we can all agree that some of the issues being raised by these protests … are concerns we can all rally around.”
